I hate rain.

April 11, 2010

There better be a shitload of May flowers to make up for all this miserable weather!

On a happier note, I’m going to Sun God after finals!  C. kept asking me to go, and I finally decided that it would be my one chance of fun before hunkering down for a summer full of studying.  Hehe.  I love my friends.

Hmmm what else is new?

I had two concerts this weekend for University Chorus, and we sang Beethoven’s Mass and Porgy and Bess.  I actually had a lot of fun performing, and my roommates came to watch me!  Yay they make me happy.  Every time I hear an orchestra though, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for my CYS days.

Apartment hunting is turning out to be a bitch.  We had the perfect place, and then Everest Properties screwed us over so basically we hate them and have to find a new place to love.  Okay, I guess I was being unrealistic to think that everything would work smoothly and we would get an apartment just like that, but I’m still bitter.  Also, their customer service is shitty, and a guy basically hung up on me yesterday morning.  Way to go.

I think the rain is making my allergies worse.

Maybe I’m just neurotic but certain things really bother me.
  • Being stuck behind people who are walking really slowly.
  • Sitting in front of people in lecture who won’t shut up.
  • When groups of people take up the whole sidewalk.
  • People who text while walking and end up running into me.
  • Having ID cards thrown at me when I’m at work.
  • When people continue singing or playing after the conductor has already cut off.

I think being cold and wet brings out the worst in me, haha.  I really don’t like the rain!  But on a happier note, I think I laughed more at dinner today than I have in a long long time.  Also, my friends are good people and that makes me happy.

Here is a cute picture to make up for my grouchy post.

Until you realize how much money you’ve spent!

It’s okay though, I can justify my little shopping spree with the excuse that I won’t be able to go shopping anytime soon.  Haha, some excuse that is.  Whatever, I’m happy with what I bought,  especially my rainboots!  I was kind of sad when it stopped raining last week just when my rainboots came in the mail, but today they had their glorious debut.

Rainy days are just so much more fun when you don’t have to worry about getting your feet wet.

The old man is snoring!

Sorry, I just always think of that when it pours like crazy.  Which it currently is.  I don’t think we’ve had a dry day here since Thursday, which slightly depresses me.  I guess yesterday was a slight improvement because it only started raining after 4.  Oh, Berkeley, I like you more when it’s sunny.

I am very excited because I finally ordered my rainboots online!  I am tired of having soaking wet feet and sitting uncomfortably through ninety minutes of lecture.  I kind of went on an online ordering spree yesterday.  Oops.

I am too cold to work

I am too cold to work

The next two, maybe three weeks are going to extremely hard because of midterms and presentations, but I am looking forward to them being over because I always feel so much more accomplished after working my ass off.  Anyway, I should probably blog less and study more so I can stress out less.  Mmm yes.

I am jealous of the high schoolers who have this entire week off.  Or maybe not- February break was always kind of mediocre compared to April break.  Whatever, I will get my week in March!  What a compromise.

Okay, back to studying and cheat sheets and models and reading and that pile of work that awaits.

The weather kind of matches my mood for the day.

Well, well, well.  It is currently pouring like no other and I am freezing down to my toes.  But not to worry, I have an endless supply of hot chocolate on hand.  Mmmm…

Friday the 13th did not start out well.  I woke up twice last night (at 2:34 and 4:39) because people were screaming in the hallways.  Again.  I had to get up rather early for my first real ochem lab which was rather ehhh.  Then I found out I had a pop lab quiz!  How wonderful.  I also managed to spill something on my hand when dumping it into the waste bucket, so I had to rinse my hand under running water for five minutes.  Stupid acid/base crap.

BUT.  I did fine on my pop quiz.  After lab I had a nice lunch and settled in to watch two hours of tv.  My roommate got back from class and I decided to ditch my next class to go watch “He’s Just Not That Into You” with her.  Amazingly, this is the first time I’ve missed class all semester!  And so began my adventure in the pouring rain.  I guess it was kind of fun being out in the pouring rain, just because I’ve managed to avoid it for so long.  But I really want rain boots now and I hate how indecisive I am about the weirdest things.

One cutesy movie later and an agonizingly cold and wet walk back and I am here in my little dorm room getting ready to be a hermit until tomorrow when it will hopefully not be raining anymore.  Toodles!

I think this is the first chick flick I’ve watched without crying, which pretty much supports my suspicions that I am becoming a bitter old hag.

Rainy days

February 6, 2009

I have a love-hate relationship with rain.  I love being inside and watching the pouring rain.  I love listening to rain (sometimes) because it’s soothing and can put me to sleep.  I think rainboots and umbrellas are cute.  I hate being cold.  I hate being wet.  The combination of cold and wet makes me grumpy, unless I’m in a particularly good mood or doing something fun to make up for it.  And I love how crisp and fresh the air is after it rains.

I just need to remember to look out the window before going to class.
