Random wishes

Sometimes, I wish I had longer legs just so I could walk faster. At least I’m not usually late!

Also, I wish the weather would stop freaking out because I feel like a snowman today.

I can’t believe I forgot to blog about this!

Okay, so junior year of high school, one of my friends realized that I pronounced the “l” in yolk. Like yollllk instead of “yoke.” I decided to ask my parents how they pronounced it to see if I had picked up some weird thing from them. Negative, they both say “yoke.” So it remained a mystery.

Until Sunday!!! When I realized that my brother says it the same way I do! Which means I probably picked it up from him. Hahaha when I heard him say it I started freaking out and laughing and he just stared at me with the most confused look on his face.

Yeah, I’m easily amused.

Lab funsies

I had to organize and rename a bunch of files for my experiment today-basically, an entire database of faces that we’re using.   For the file names, we wanted to have gender, subject number, and race.  So I used “c” for Caucasion and “a” for Asian.  And then we had a little problem.

“Can I use ‘b’ for African Americans?”

“Hm, I’m not sure.  Do you think that’s offensive?”

“I don’t really think ‘black’ is that offensive…”

“Maybe we should use ‘d’ for dark.  Yeah, let’s do that.  Too bad, it would have been nice to have a, b, and c.”

Hahaha sigh.  I like my lab.  One of my friends told me how my work in lab was very suitable to me.  I had to put so careful about putting the reference dots on the faces I was morphing-perfect for my OCD tendencies!  And then I had to put dots in between the eyes and lips to standardize them-easy for me because I all those years of being artsy craftsy made me good at finding the center of things!

My brother was a subject in my lab today!  Heehee.

On a random note, the longest streak I have for doing some kind of work out every day is still three weeks.  Dang it!  Time to start counting again.
